WELCOME-- to the Website of the “NWTF PROUD” state of Texas. You have just come in contact with NWTF members from the Lone Star State that are dedicated to the betterment of the wild turkey in all its facets. We hope that as you peruse our website , you will become aware of the focus we are trying to maintain on the various NWTF programs. We are “banquet busy” and yet can find time for a strong scholarship program, JAKES events, re-stocking of the Eastern species in our state, our turkey donation program, turkey calling, turkey hunting and are very supportive of WITO and Wheeling Sportsmen. Enjoy yourself—and take your time in “clicking around” to discover the love we Texans have for the wild turkey. Robert Linder

My fellow NWTF members- - - - - - I say that—and it sounds like a phrase that might begin some political speech----it is appropriate however—because we are all truly involved in wildlife conservation through our commitment to the Wild Turkey. We are intertwined with wildlife officers, agencies and biologists in making sure that the wild turkey and other wildlife are given every opportunity to grow in a positive manner through habitat improvement The NWTF is “THE SHEPHERD” for the wild turkey in America, Mexico and Canada. When we transfer wild turkeys from one state to the next in order to increase ranges and restore turkeys to their former home, it requires working in a political manner with a number of key entities other than NWTF. We are partners—dedicated to seeing that tomorrow’s hunters have the joy of pursuing the wild turkey in its various species. We have—each in our own way --embraced the the mission of NWTF, and are using our energies to raise funds to see that that mission is fulfilled. We have made numerous friends and met many new people along the way that share the NWTF goals in order that the youth of tomorrow will know the beauty of the wild turkey and what it has to offer us. WE are openly supportive of turkey hunting and make no apologies for that. Our NWTF organization raises more money and returns it to the forest and wildlife through projects on the ground ,than any other group with turkey as a principal interest. It is a wonderful thing to participate in NWTF and it is my sincere hope that 2008 is a year where adding new members and new chapters are a norm. As you reflect upon belonging to this fine organization, just remember the tremendous growth of turkey hunters and turkey numbers of the past 25 years. Our NWTF is a wonderful success story because of you . Let us pat ourselves on the back—and go forth and multiply. Make it your business to introduce new people to NWTF and to our banquet events. That will make our future a bright one for NWTF here in Texas. Cheers ! Dr. Robert Linder Texas State President--(2008-2009)
